Contrary to the opinion of some , weight loss and muscle gain can possibly go hand and hand. Another popular idea that many of us believe is the notion that eliminating fat from our diets will surely make us thin. Reasons for having lowfat foods readily available for most of us. Eating fat does not necessarily make you fat, it’s actually the way your body stores fat that makes you gain weight. Too much consumption of sweets and starches stimulates your body’s production of insulin.
Amongst the 5 WH- questions ‘why’ is my favorite because it requires not just a simple answer but an explanation. It makes every question clarified and verified. It does not leave a trace of doubt and uncertainty.
One way or another, I wish life provides the same certainty or that God would answer every question and doubt. All these years, I get myself bombarded with WHYs and I am struck of how time and again the Lord would not answer me. It drives me to insanity because no matter how much time I would wait there seems to be no vivid answers for the trials and tribulations I or even the humanity encounter.

A robust laugh gives your diaphragm, thorax, abdomen, heart, and lungs, a brief workout. It works out the shoulders and leaving the muscles more relaxed afterward. Laughing with gusto will turn your body into a big vibrator and performs an internal massage.
Research has shown health benefits of laughter ranging from strengthening the immune system to reducing food cravings to increasing one’s threshold for pain.
STRESS has been described as the disease of modern society: we can’t live with it, we can’t live without it. When we are under too much pressure we tend to live our lives on overdrive and on the verge of ‘burnout’, whereas when there is insufficient stress in our lives we can be faced with boredom.
Even though most of the least health conscious people have decreased their fat intake dramatically, there is still a rise in obesity. During the 70’s only one-fourth of the population was obese , today one-third of the population is obese. We can see that more and more bottling companies are into diet drinks and zero calorie drinks, but still a pandemic disease called obesity is on the rise. Though another cause of obesity is the increasingly sedentary lifestyle in our society, let us see why most of the studies today correlate the high consumption of sugar and simple starches to obesity and some of the uprising diseases like cancers.
I think I had seen all types of Presidents in the Philippines: a genius like Ferdinand Marcos; a plain housewife in the person of Cory Aquino; a military man like Fidel Ramos; a popular artist like Joseph Estrada; and ofcourse an economist and harvard graduate like Glora Macapagal Arroyo. But nothing happened to our beloved country. To be fair, today, our country is now first honor when it comes to high percentage of poor citizenry at least in Asia. This is because of the worst performing president of them all – the latter. I think she’s genius when it comes to maneuvering government projects based on numerous projects that were investigated which until now, nothing happened. I can’t describe her to be honest. The legacy of her father – the late Diosdado Macapagal – has come to waste. And I am afraid she totally destroyed the name – Macapagal. No thanks to her husband – the father of all corrupt men and women in the Philippines – a perceived conclusion by some.
Laziness brings curse in our lives. The more diligent we are, the more blessings come our way. Therefore, the antidote of this kind of curse, is hardwork. It is a sad note that most third world countries like the Philippines and India has culture of sluggardness or lack of diligence. People tend to choose queuing so long just to get a lotto ticket rather than spending time doing something that promotes productivity.

It is true that pursuing excellence as citizens of God’s Kingdom here on earth is not an easy task. And with that in mind, let me state that poor health and illness are some of the favorite tools of the enemy – Satan – to hinder us in pursuing excellence. In pursuit of excellence, we must be physically fit!
We are serving a God of Excellence and so we must also be known and characterized by excellence.
